BOOTS MADE FOR WALKING

I've been on the hunt for a good pair of flat black boots for a while now.. It's a staple that I avoided buying for some reason for a few years now.. While every other sane blogger is ranting about how 'ESSENTIAL IT IS TO HAVE GOOD ESSENTIALS!! RAAAH' I just tend to buy everything in pastel, electric blue, and my latest tendency is to buy practically everything in burgundy. Remember this burgundy coloured suit? It has kind of become my uniform in several variations.. I added a vintage sweater, a vintage envelope bag, an American Apparel tee and an AA maxi skirt to my collection of bordeaux galore ever since. Maybe I should have a look at my compulsory colour co-ordinated shopping.. But, today is boots talk!

I will probably be getting myself one of these models sometime soon: I want something chunky to be worn underneath dresses for a little bit of contrast in Spring - I picture a flowy short dress with pastel socks and Doc Martens, for instance. Simple yet KAPOW!

So the big question is.. Should I go with the Docs or go with the Western take on the black boot thing? Voting time!

1. Dr Martens
2. Sendra

WISHLIST // Light summer

I recently discovered that the pretty well-known webshop Zalando has much more to offer than just shoes. I was suprised by the broad collection of dresses, bags and accessories and decided to put together some inspirational outfits with their items.

For me, it's all about white and light colours this summer. I love the elegance of clothing that's been crafted from white luxurious fabrics. White also matches perfectly with the pastel coloured wardrobe that I have built up, and the possibilities are infinite.

Here's two ways of wearing light colours, for day and night.

Dress // Tiger of Sweden
Bag // Abro
Sandals // Strenesse
Pink feather necklace // TomShot
Tortoise necklace // David Aubrey

Dress // Bruuns Bazaar
Sandals // Miss Sixty
Laptop case as clutch // Mabba
Cuff // Tokyo Jane

WISHLIST // Mud

I fell in love with these shorts ever since I saw it on bonadrag. It's from Samantha Pleet, and the fabric has been treated like the Chinese have done it for centuries: burying china silk in mud for two months, and then dying it. This treatment gives the shorts a fascinating texture. Check out bonadrag for more.

These shorts have been chosen to be the first of a new series I came up with: Wednesday Wannahaves. I'll be picking my weekly favorites and will combine it in a collage.

Hope you like this new topic, this is one of the many changes that will occur on this blog anytime soon..
