WARDROBE // Awakening

the warm sun woke me up from a deep sleep, full of surrealistic dreams.
it called me to come outside.


I found soft textured clothing in a pale pink colour to match my skin tone.



my black leather sandals carried me away towards the sunrays.

it's too beautiful outside to be blogging right now, so I'm out of here to enjoy life.

OUTFIT // Suffocation

I had this crazy night yesterday. went to the Crystal Castles gig I talked about. the public was all trendy and

'oh, it took me 2 hours to compose my outfit but I'm pretending it only took me 30secs. I'm so cool.'

the light show was tripping and the lead singer was waving around with her personal stroboscope, while standing on her audience. at that point this dude in a dress came up to me and dropped half a litre of beer on me.. he was too busy looking alternative and trendy to even notice.

we decided to leave for another party, which involved a bonfire, bad music and people dressed up in nothing but jeans and hoodies. not nearly as cool as the CC-crowd thought they were, but I realized that all the fashionable people at Crystal Castles were missing out on the best kind of party ever.

I still loved the gig, despite the hysterical audience. today's song is from Crystal Castles' newest album.

stripes and pastels have been ruling my world for the past few days. voila, part one of this combination's saga.

hair in a mess. no makeup,except for the stained coral lipstick, applied in a rush. bad location for taking pictures. my youngest sister as an unexperienced and impatient photographer. chipped nailpolish, in the wrong colour.

but...
a late afternoon sun, the sunrays caressing our skin. the perfect lighting. some beautiful shots, despite the inexperience of both photographer and me. a cat walking down the street while we're taking pictures. the perfect vintage crochet detail dress. I believe that it's a 60's wedding dress (or I just love to believe that).

and a new favorite song of mine in the background. (it's the intro. love the intro.)





Spring has finally arrived. and I hope that there will follow a lot of days like this.

although I don't listen to classical music that often, there's nothing more relaxing than to sit back and listen to a symphony. but classical music can be energetic as well.
the classical string instruments of Vivaldi create a vivid piece of music, nothing bland at all.
I tried to pick an outfit that is like Vivaldi's music - a conservative blouse combined with black leather to create a look that has classy features, without becoming too old-fashioned.





oh, and I just love this fan. it's a souvenir I bought abroad. thought it matched the shoes.

I've been away from blogging for over two weeks.

I had some things to do in real life. too many heavy stuff has happened in the past few months, therefore I needed some kind of inner and outer detox.

spring is starting to show. today I walked barefooted in my garden for the first time of the year. I didn't expect to get so joyful about that.

ruffled dresses in the lightest colours of salmon pink. black leather. shredded, dotted tights. detailed bow necklaces in gold, dangling along with skull pendants. chipped light pink nail polish. girly overknee socks. in black. paired with some worker boots. cute headbands with pearls and rhinestones on them. to tame the wild hairdo. French music and French cigarettes.

I love the never ending clash between soft and tough whenever it comes to clothing.

I went into the ZARA store over and over again.. I had fallen in love with a gorgeous pair of sand coloured wedges with laces and a fabulous collar. there were like two little mini-me's sitting on my shoulders, an angelic one and a devilish bastard..

angelic mini-me: "you already have a lot of shoes, why don't you save up some money for your driving license and your college?" *heavenly music sounding*
devilish bastard: "look at those shoes, they're so pretty!! the colour's so versatile, you don't own a colour like that in your shoe collection! it's almost spring girl!! the leather's so soft, why don't you just try them on.. bet it fits like a glove..." *devil laugh*

I bought them.

my boyfriend gave me a shoe-buying restriction for two months. I wonder if I can live up to that, hahaha. my instinct to buy every shoe I can get my hands on is immensely strong.. I blame the devilish, satisfied bastard that is sitting on my shoulder.

me, my boyfriend and his family went out for sushi at Kyoto Café, Damrak Amsterdam. I have to say I love this place! they have the freshest sashimi ever, and their sushi is totally not one-of-a-kind. definitely a place to recommend, especially whenever considering the location and the prices.. Kyoto Café has recently added an all-you-can-eat option to their menu. stuff yourself, I'd say.
